NC Duck

Duck, North Carolina is a wonderful community in Dare County that is also considered part of the Outer Banks region of the coast. Duck is the northernmost community in the county and has continued to grow in popularity as a tourist destination in recent years. The town is known for its outdoor recreational activities, summer concerts, art galleries and its annual jazz festival in October. The town spans 2.416 square miles, 1.302 miles of which is water covered. The region and city were named for the many kinds of ducks live in their wetlands.

Duck is fairly newly established community with its official incorporation date of May 1, 2002, but the civic history of the area began in the 1980s. According to the 2010 United States Census Duck is home to approximately 369 residents giving the town a population density of 99.25 people per square mile. However, during the peak of the tourist season the number of people in the town rises to a startling 20,000 people. Tourism and hospitality services are the base for the area's economy with thousands of visitors flocking there annually to enjoy the beach front areas, unique shopping opportunities, fine dining and more.

Real estate in the area tends is predominantly of the suburban style with landscaped yards, unattached or attached garages and room to breath.
